"Dropped Fiji 7s playmaker Nikola Matawalu has apologised to the fans, coaches Alifereti Dere and Eddie Waqa and the national 7s team over his axing after he turned up late and under the influence for a training camp Sunday in Suva.
Matawalu was dropped Monday with fellow naval officer Sikeli Vuruna called up as his replacement.
Speaking to FijiLive, Matawalu admits he had been drinking Saturday night."
