"Two former presidents, a lecturer at the University of the South Pacific and the owner of a major bus operator in the North have come forward to help ‘save’ Labasa soccer from the doldrums.
Labasa’s successful president to date, Pradeep Chand Pratap, 1998 president Hari Prasad, USP lecturer Nilesh Chand and Parmod Chand of Parmod Bus Enterprises are among a handful who have come forward offering to be part of an interim committee to be named Thursday.
Under Pratap’s leadership in the late 90s, Labasa won all major tournament titles, a feat he believes could be repeated by the Babasiga Lions.
Others who have forwarded their names to help Labasa back on their feet include former Labasa manager and police officer Mahen Maharaj and Ronil Chand who is the manager of Waiqele buses."
