COOK Islands News - First local votes cast in NZ election , Nov 21, 2011

New Zealand High Commissioner John Carter casts his vote in the New Zealand election yesterday – from the high commission in Rarotonga.
"Cook Islands residents are exercising their right to vote in the New Zealand election.
The New Zealand High Commission in Rarotonga opened its voting booth within the Avarua offices yesterday at 9am.
An eager elector was the first to cast a vote getting in before New Zealand High Commissioner to the Cook Islands John Carter, who dropped his papers into the box just before 10am.
Voting for the New Zealand election and a referendum on the country's voting system closes in the Cook Islands on November 24.
The actual election takes place in New Zealand on November 26 (November 25 Cook Islands time).
Rarotongas NZHC office will be open on weekdays from 9am to midday and 1pm to 3pm until November 23, and on November 24 it will stay open for an extra hour, closing at 4pm."
