"A man arrested with a pipebomb in his pocket in western Sydney allegedly told police he intended to detonate it in the city.
The 33-year-old man was standing on a busy platform at Lidcombe train station about 7.45pm (AEDT) yesterday when he became agitated upon seeing a police drug-detecting dog, police said.
Police searched the man and allegedly found a 15cm home-made pipebomb in a glasses case in his pocket.
"Apparently he (allegedly) stated that he had a very bad day and he intended to take it into the city and detonate it in a body of water," Inspector Chris Hill told Macquarie Radio today."
