"The boss of bookie giant Ladbrokes has slammed Mary Portas for claiming betting shops blight high streets.
Richard Glynn said the self-styled Queen of Shops had got her facts wrong, with bookies proving a major boost to communities.
He told the Daily Mirror: “Talk to the local police, the local council, they will tell you betting shops add to the viability of the retail environment."
