During this period on Fridays and Saturdays, the hotel will have a reception desk to collect Christmas presents to send to children in Tohoku. For participating guests, Christmas ornaments with handmade message cards will be distributed for guests to write on and hang on the tree. The messages and presents will be sent to children in Tohoku via Kids Earth Fund.

There are three Christmas trees in the lobby, two designed by Higashionna and Murayama, and one tree (pictured above), “The Light of Happiness Tree,” for hotel guests to decorate.The hotel will also offer a special accommodation package, “The Light of Happiness Stay,” between Nov 17 and Dec 25, from which 5% of the room revenue will be donated to charity.
