There is no perfect way to make a list of the top footballers of the year. Every year these players go to work for amazing stretches of time and work tirelessly to become one of the best in the world at their craft.
At the end of the year, some of those players are honored by being recognized as the best footballers in the world. There are always players that miss the cut that would get them considered among the world's best.
Even though that may happen, their impact certainly will not be forgotten by lovers of the beautiful game.

The social network is increasingly being used as a source of evidence in divorce cases, the Daily Mail reported citing law firm Divorce-Online.
The firm said it has seen a 50 per cent jump in the number of "behaviour-based" divorce petitions that contained the word "Facebook" over the past two years. At least 33 per cent of the 5,000 petitions filed with the firm in the past year mentioned the website."

"NEW YORK — Fred Milano, who made rock and roll history on doo-wop hits with Dion and the Belmonts in the 1950s and continued to perform while starting a late-in-life career with the New York City Department of Correction, has died. He was 72.
Milano died Sunday, three weeks after his lung cancer was diagnosed, said Warren Gradus, who joined the Belmonts in 1963. Milano lived in Massapequa, on Long Island, and died in a hospital, Gradus said.

"Gene Bartow, the successor to John Wooden as UCLA basketball coach who became the architect of a new and successful athletics program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, died Tuesday evening. He was 81.
Bartow, who was diagnosed with stomach cancer two years ago, died at his Birmingham home, according to a university spokesman.
Despite starting the athletics program at Alabama Birmingham and establishing the basketball program as nationally competitive, Bartow probably will be most remembered in Los Angeles as the man who replaced arguably the best coach in college basketball history and unarguably the most beloved and respected coach in Los Angeles sports history when in 1975 he took over UCLA’s program after Wooden’s retirement."
