"Yahoo! chairman Roy Bostock announced Tuesday he was stepping down from the board of the struggling Internet company along with three other directors.
Bostock, in a letter to shareholders, also said Yahoo! was in "active discussions" with its partners in Asia on restructuring its holdings in the Alibaba Group and Yahoo! Japan.
Bostock said he had decided not to stand for re-election at Yahoo!'s next shareholders meeting, along with board members Vyomesh Joshi, Arthur Kern and Gary Wilson."

A lifelong Concord resident, he died shortly after 1 a.m. at the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association's Hospice House, several weeks after a fall, according to his granddaughter, Gina Grappone."

American brigadier general dies in Afghanistan
"A 49-year-old US Brigadier general died of apparently natural causes in Afghanistan, the Army said Friday, the highest-ranking soldier to die during the war.
Brig. Gen. Terence J. Hildner was identified as the first of that rank to die in Afghanistan since the war began there in 2001.
The New Haven, Conn.-born Hildner, who listed Fairfax, Va., as his home, took command of 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) on Aug. 19, 2010, the Army said. He was deployed to Afghanistan in December from Fort Hood."

One of his first productions was a radio adaptation of the 1920 silent horror film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari." By 1978, producer-writer-director Rasovsky and his theater had earned a Peabody Award for the weekly radio plays that aired on a small Chicago station."

Steve Appleton, chairman and CEO of memory chip maker Micron Technology, died today after suffering fatal injuries in a plane crash at the Boise Airport in Idaho. He was 51.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Appleton, Micron Chairman and CEO, passed away this morning in a small plane accident in Boise,” the company said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to his wife, Dalynn, his children and his family during this tragic time. Steve’s passion and energy left an indelible mark on Micron, the Idaho community and the technology industry at large.”

"Avant-garde Spanish painter and sculptor Antoni Tapies has died in Barcelona at the age of 88, local media reports.

"LONDON (AP) – Florence Green never saw the front line. Her war was spent serving food, not dodging bullets.
Florence Green is presented with a birthday cake on behalf of the Royal Air Force at her home in King's Lynn, England, on Feb. 19, 2010.
But Green, who has died aged 110, was the last known surviving veteran of World War I. She was serving with the Women's Royal Air Force as a waitress at an air base in eastern England when the guns fell silent on Nov. 11, 1918.
It was not until 2010 that she was officially recognized as a veteran after a researcher found her service record in Britain's National Archives."
