SIMCOE REFORMER - Breivik used video games to plan attack, Apr 19, 2012

"OSLO - Norwegian anti-Islamic fanatic Anders Behring Breivik told a court on Thursday he had planned for even bigger attacks before killing 77 people and had prepared for the massacre by playing computer games.
On the fourth day of his trial for the attacks in July, Breivik said he had considered bombing the annual May 1 parade in Oslo, a Labour Party convention and a conference of journalists but opted for a new plan after the bomb-making took too long.
He killed eight people with a car bomb at government headquarters in Oslo, then gunned down 69 people, most of them teenagers, at a Labour Party summer youth camp on Utoeya island."

"SEATTLE, Wash. – The Mariners got on the board early with two home runs in the first inning and defeated the Indians 4-1 along with a strong outing by Jason Vargas.
The zero on the scoreboard wouldn't stay there long for the M's as Chone Figgins belted a homer to leadoff the bottom half of the first. Ichiro Suzuki then came up and added a solo shot of his own to put Seattle up 2-0 early.
The Mariners loaded up the bases with two outs in the second and Jesus Montero was walked, giving him an RBI and bringing home Brendan Ryan.
The Indian's Aaron Cunningham leadoff the third inning with a double and was advanced on two straight sacrifices: to third on a bunt, and then scoring on a sac-fly by Jason Kipnis."

CARE2 - Let's Make the Seal Hunt History!, Apr 19, 2012

Let's Make the Seal Hunt History!
"Canada's commercial seal hunt has reached a crucial moment.
The markets for seal products are disappearing. There are now seal product restrictions around the world, and the value of seal pelts has dropped dramatically -- from over $100 per pelt in 2006 to just $18 now.
However, the Canadian Government continues to subsidize the sealing industry with taxpayer money. They are planning to fight the EU's seal product ban in the WTO and, most baffling, they have set the annual seal hunt quote at 400,000 seals. "

Consumers International: As Rio+20 approaches, governments weigh the benefits of two paths to sustainability, Apr 19, 2012

: "There is general agreement among governments of the urgent need to address the current unsustainable patterns of development. However, as the international negotiation process continues towards the Rio+20 Earth Summit, there is little agreement on how to do it.
In terms of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) – the issues that most concern consumer rights groups – the Rio+20 negotiations are currently considering two approaches, but neither of them is sufficiently compelling at present."
