: "Informal voting on the second semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 at the press center of the Baku Crystal Hall has been completed, as a result of which, ten finalists have been elected.
The voting was organized by Organizing Committee of Eurovision and European Broadcasting Union. It was attended by journalists, accredited fans, as well as representatives of various countries' delegations.
As a result of the voting, the second ten finalists are Turkey, Sweden, Serbia, Norway, Ukraine, Malta, Georgia, Belarus, Macedonia and Bulgaria."

"NASHUA – The man who died in a motorcycle crash Saturday night left behind his wife and daughter and had another child on the way.
Stewart Triehy, 23, of Pepperell, Mass., died when he lost control of his motorcycle around 8:15 p.m. Saturday on the southbound Exit 2 ramp of the F.E. Everett Turnpike, according to police.
Triehy is survived by his wife, Ashley Triehy, and daughter Teagan as well as his parents, Sean and Vicki Triehy, five brothers and one sister. He also had a second daughter on the way, according to his obituary."

While he became famous for covering combat situations–Vietnam especially–he also trained his lens on the important events going on in the world around him, such as the Olympics.

Dunn’s death was announced by his friend and fellow MG, guitarist Steve Cropper. “Today I lost my best friend, the world has lost the best guy and bass player to ever live” Cropper wrote on his website. “Duck Dunn died in his sleep Sunday morning May 13 in Tokyo Japan after finishing two shows at the Blue Note Night Club.”

 "May 15, 2012 (PIERRE PART, La.) -- A cast member of the reality TV show "Swamp People" died Monday, a Louisiana sheriff said.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack said Mitchell Guist was pronounced dead at a hospital. He had fallen while aboard his boat on the Intracoastal Waterway, near Pierre Part.
History, which produces the reality show with Original Media, said Guist would have turned 49 on Friday."

 "Carlos Fuentes, one of the generation of writers who brought modern Latin American fiction onto the world stage, died today in a Mexico City hospital. He was 83.
His death was related to a heart condition, the press office of the National Council for Arts and Culture said. The recipient of awards including the Miguel de Cervantes Prize and Mexico’s National Prize in Literature, Fuentes had a following among Latin American authors surpassed only by Colombia’s Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Peru’s Mario Vargas Llosa though unlike his contemporaries he never won a Nobel Prize."

"Chuck Brown, the Washington, D.C.-area funk icon known as the ‘Godfather of Go-Go,’ has died. He passed away today (May 16) at the age of 75. He died at Johns Hopkins University hospital in Baltimore.
Brown’s manager Tom Goldfogle confirmed the news of his client’s death to The Washington Post. The musician had been hospitalized and treated for pneumonia in recent weeks.
While Brown’s name might not be instantly familiar to pop music fans, especially the younger generation, his hooks most certainly are. Brown’s most popular anthem was 1979′s ‘Bustin’ Loose,’ which was sampled by pop rapper Nelly on his massive summer hit, 2002′s ‘Hot in Herre.’"

 "Banjo player Doug Dillard, an influential bluegrass musician who played with many rock outfits, appeared on "The Andy Griffith Show" and with his family band the Dillards, died Wednesday in Nashville after a long illness, the group's longtime publisher Lynne Robin Green said Thursday. He was 75.
Dillard and his brother Rodney began playing music together with other members of their family in the 1940s growing up in Salem, Mo., but hit their stride after moving to Los Angeles in the early 1960s and signing with Elektra Records."

"Donna Summer, the undisputed disco queen and popular music icon whose soaring voice and vibrant hits defined an era, died Thursday morning after a battle with lung cancer. She was 63.
According to the Associated Press, her family released a statement Thursday saying Summer died and that they “are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continuing legacy.” She was reportedly in Florida at the time of her death. Her cancer diagnosis came a mere 10 months ago and only her husband and children knew, reports Entertainment Tonight.

Ray died Thursday in Chowchilla of complications of cirrhosis of the liver, said his granddaughter, Susan Ray."

"Eugene Polley, inventor of the wireless television remote control, has died at the age of 96, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. Polley died of natural causes on Sunday in a Chicago-area hospital.
The former Zenith engineer's green, gun-shaped Flash-Matic remote control was introduced in 1955, five years after the Zenith Radio Corporation unveiled Lazy Bones, a TV remote that was connected to the set with a wire. By aiming Polley's ray gun-like Flash-Matic (pictured) very precisely at the receiver, one could pull the red trigger to shoot a beam of light at a photoelectric cell to change the channel and adjust the volume."
