"Dick Clark, whose “American Bandstand” made him rich, famous, influential and sometimes controversial by marrying rock ’n’ roll with television, died Wednesday morning at the age of 82.
His agent, Paul Shefrin, said he suffered a massive heart attack. He had struggled with health issues since suffering a a serious stroke in 2004."

"(TORONTO) — Jonathan Frid, a Canadian actor best known for playing Barnabas Collins in the 1960s original vampire soap opera “Dark Shadows”, has died. He was 87.
Frid died Friday of natural causes in a hospital in his home town of Hamilton, Ontario, said Jim Pierson, a friend and spokesman for Dan Curtis Productions, the creator of “Dark Shadows.”"

 "When Claire Squires stood at the start line for the London Marathon, her fundraising website had attracted £500 in donations.
Last night, less than three days after the hairdresser collapsed and died near the end of the 26.2-mile course, the total had soared past £666,000 with a record number of donations - £810,000 including gift aid.
Miss Squires, 30, took part in the marathon to raise money for the Samaritans in memory of her brother Grant, who died of a drug overdose ten years ago, aged 25.
Yesterday her devastated parents Paul, 62, and Cilla, 63, a Samaritans volunteer, said in a statement: ‘Words cannot explain what an incredible, inspirational, beautiful and driven person she was. She was loved by so many and is dearly missed.

(CNN) -- A Brazilian actor died after accidentally hanging himself during the play "The Passion of the Christ," a local hospital said.
Tiago Klimeck, 27, was one of the actors from a local theater company taking part in an independent production of the play April 6 in the city of Itarare.
